TheChainsaw Mananime was a worldwide phenomenon that has encapsulated fans across the globe. It showcased never before seen levels of action combined with the fluidity of studio MAPPA’s animation and the fantastic voice acting of many breakout stars. So many moving parts came together to make the anime great, but one crucial element can’t be ignored in the success of Chainsaw Man: the Devils.

The devils are what make the Chainsaw world what it is, and the protagonist’s battle against them is what makes the story great, and there have been some extremely tough devils introduced so far.
10Zombie Devil
Technically not the first devil the audience encounters in the anime, but it is the first major one to pose a threat. When you boil it down, the entire story starts with the Zombie Devil because his decision to kill Denji led to him becoming Chainsaw Man, and he did this by attacking him with a hoard of zombies, as his name would imply.
But it turns out Zombies aren’t excellent weapons because they could barely kill an already hurt human; Denji and all the remaining zombies were swiftly dispatched by the new 4th Division. This makes the Zombie Devil the weakest on the list by far, as his devil ability is to essentially make cannon fodder.
9Angel Devil
TheAngel Devilis a bit of a special case on this list since he doesn’t actually fight anyone in the anime, but his powers alone are worth a spot on the list. Any physical contact with the Angel Devil takes years off of a person’s lifespan, and this process cannot be reversed.

This means the Angel Devil can take out anyone just by touching them long enough, even veteran devil hunters like Kishibe can potentially be defeated quite easily. It’s also worth noting the Angel Devil has blocked bullets with his wings and didn’t show any signs of worry when shot at.
8Power (Blood Devil)
Power, the Blood Devil, is a fan favorite and would be number one on this list if it was a popularity contest, but when it comes to strength, she’s a bit on the weaker side. In nearly every encounter, Power chooses to run, hide, or use Denji as a human shield.
But to her credit, she did dispatch the Sea Cucumber Devil in one hit, and she killed hoards of zombies by herself when the other members of the 4th Division fought together. Not to mention she was faster than Denji with her hammer and knocked him out cold. Even if Power is quick to run, she has been shown time and time again to be able to handle herself fairly well.
7Bat Devil
Unlike Power, this devil is almost universally hated by fans, and for a good reason. The Bat Devil black-mailed Power by threatening her cat Meowy and even when Power accomplished her task, the Bat Devil ate it anyway and then ate Power. As bad as the Bat Devil is, his strength is unquestionable; not only did he eat Power without a fight, but he also went toe to toe with Chainsaw Man.
Although he lost in the end, the Bat Devil was able to destroy buildings and toss cars around casually, putting his physical strength on par with Chainsaw Man’s at the time.
6Leech Devil
The Leech Devil is mainly known for its… interesting design, but it’s important not to forget just how monstrously strong it was. Granted, the Leech Devil fought a weakened Denji who could only manage one chainsaw, but it did it with such ease and confidence that it probably could’ve fought a healthy Chainsaw Man on equal footing the way the Bat Devil did.
What puts the Leech Devil above the Bat Devil is its speed and unrelenting attacks that Denji simply couldn’t keep up with. The Bat Devil almost never landed a direct hit on Denji, while the Leech Devil was constantly on the offensive and even managed to punch a hole right through him.
5Fox Devil
Little is known aboutthe Fox Devil, but its strength was clear from the moment it first appeared on the screen. Just when the Leech Devil was about to kill Denji, Aki used the Fox Devil’s head to nearly swallow it whole. That was the moment the scale of the Power of devils became extremely clear. Later on in the story, it’s stated that the Fox Devil makes a lot of contracts with humans but only lets them use its head, which implies that there is a whole body out there.

If the head was enough to one-shot something as powerful as the Leech Devil, then the full extent of the Fox Devil’s Power must be incomprehensible compared to the average devil. Even when Fox’s head is split open by Katana Man, it doesn’t die and just decides to stop helping Aki, meaning its defensive and healing abilities are also way above average.
4Eternity Devil
This devil might not have the physical strength or speed the previous devils on this list have, but it, by far, has the most broken Power.The Eternity Devilcan basically create a pocket dimension inside its stomach where time ceases to exist, which takes the form of a hotel floor. Once someone wanders in, there’s no way out unless the Eternity Devil lets them out.
Even if someone could successfully hurt this devil as Himeno did, it still wouldn’t die since it can hide its heart. It’s safe to say without Chainsaw Man or someone else with extreme regeneration; there’s simply no way to kill this devil; however, you could theoretically avoid its Power entirely by just not entering its stomach.
3Ghost Devil
The Ghost Devil probably has the most unique design out of any other devil on the show so far but one of the less interesting powers –Ghost hands. The Ghost Devil is a long cylinder covered in flowers with a stitched-up face, and its entire lower body is long ghost hands that it uses to maneuver around and fight. Much like the Leech Devil, the Ghost Devil is able to attack at ridiculous speeds and with overwhelming numbers.
So overwhelming, in fact, that it nearly kills Katana Man, and without the intervention of the Snake Devil, it would’ve. The Ghost Devil’s biggest weakness is later revealed when Aki walks right up to it without fear and kills it. If something doesn’t fear this devil, then it can’t see them, and if it can’t see them, it can’t attack them.
2Snake Devil
Snakes are one of the most feared things on this earth, and the Snake Devil is no exception. The Snake Devil boasts a massive body dwarfing the Fox Devil’s head and the Ghost Devil, the ladder in which it nearly swallowed whole. It cannot be understated just how big the Snake Devil truly is when compared to every other devil seen on screen.
It goes without saying that the physical strength of this devil is extremely high, even if we don’t see it hit anything directly. Its speed is also very high seeing as it swallowed the Ghost Devil the instant it was summoned and vanished as quickly as it left. The Snake Devil also has the ability to spit things out and control them, which is what it did to the Ghost Devil.
1Gun Devil
The Gun Devil is the only devil we never directly see on screen, but the aftermath left in its wake is more than enough to declare it the strongest devil in the anime so far. Many fans will remember a young Aki’s house being blown away by the Gun Devil’s attack, but that is just the beginning. Millions of people all over the world were attacked and killed within a couple of minutes, and then the Gun Devil just vanished.
The speeds this devil would have had to reach far outclasses any devil or human seen on screen, not to mention its strength. Nothing else even compares to the level of devastation the Gun Devil was able to create, and theoretically, it could do far more since that attack was short and many years before the start of the show. The Gun Devil is simply in a league of its own, and rightfully so.
