Just like the second entry in the franchise, CD Projekt Red has released the official mod editor forThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, named REDkit. The modding tool is set to be released for free sometime in 2024 and is right now available for playtesting from April 16 to July 23, 2025. Will it also open the door forCyberpunk 2077?

After years of development, CD Projekt Red’s futuristic RPG came but failed miserably. That’s when CDPR came in with more guts and responsibility, improved their previous flaws, and brought in the legendaryPhantom LibertyDLC, which revived the game like a phoenix. Fans are pretty excited that they will see a similar modding tool forCyberpunk 2077as well.
The Witcher 3 REDkit : Unlocking Endless Potential
TheSteam pageforREDkit is live now. According to the page, this is a“comprehensive modding tool.”This is the same tool that has been used by CDPR to createWild Hunt. This allows nearly limitless freedom in modding. That means this toolwill unlock the world of endless customization in the game itself. REDkit will be available for free for all TheWitcher 3: Wild Huntowners on PC only.
Just imagine if they did this for Cyberpunk as well, endless potential.

This tool lets you access the framework of the game and can literally do anything with it, i.e., endless possibilities as far as modding is concerned. According to the Steam page, this modding tool is capable of making overhaul changes to the terrain. It can also create personalized quests, animation, and even characters.
How To Gain Access to REDkit
There is no solid release date confirmed yet. As of now, this modding tool is available through a playtest. To enter the playtest, one simply has to go to the store page of REDkit on Steam and request access to the same. REDkit will be distributed among the fans in batches only during this limited period. Upon getting access to it, this toolkit will appear in the respective Steam libraries of the players.
