A brand new update forCall of Duty: Warzonebegan rolling out today (December 7), but don’t get too excited as no changes are arriving just yet.

Today’s update is simply a pre-load for Season One, which begins on December 8th. Pre-loading is staggered in release, so if you don’t have the new update yet, don’t panic.

As mentioned previously, a new update forWarzonehas been deployed, but won’t be installable until December 8th at 12AM ET / 5AM GMT.

Not everyone will have received the newWarzoneupdate just yet, as the release of the Season One pre-load is staggered. Thanks to PlayStation Game Size, we know that pre-loading will be split into three separate releases:

Today’s update will be installable on December 8th at 12AM ET / 5AM GMT, but this is also the time in which theWarzoneservers will be taken offline for a total of 12 hours before Season One and Caldera begins at 9AM PT / 12PM ET / 5PM GMT on December 8th.

Vanguard Royale

Inspired by the positive reception of Operation: Flashback, the team wanted to bring these Public Events across to Vanguard Royale. We also heard the feedback that Players still wanted to feel a sense of strategy and mastery, so we have made some key changes to remove the haphazardness of Public Events in this mode.

New Map: Caldera

Caldera comprises 15 huge, distinct areas to explore and fight across once Operation Vulcan begins. There are also hundreds of lesser points of interest to investigate and use to your tactical advantage.

With the launch of Season One, all Warzone players can gain access to everything that Vanguard brought to the arsenal and barracks including but not limited to:

At the start of this season, cross-progression between Vanguard and Warzone will be enabled, allowing you to rank up through Seasonal Prestige and unlock new content through the Battle Pass and Challenges.
