What Happened Previously On Bungo Stray Dogs?
Akutagawa started a vicious attack on Aya in the previous episode, while Kunikida and Tanizaki fought guards outside. Atsushi discovered himself restrained to a bed and in danger from Teruko’s blade. A chilling memory revealed Fukuchi’s promise to exact revenge on his fallen allies. Fukuchi, who was holding Kunikida and Tanizaki captive, was confronted by Fukuzawa and Ranpo in the present. Fukuchi’s manipulation of time negated the effectiveness of Ranpo’s literary trap. A deal was made, which was to reveal his genuine intent within five minutes or risk losing the hostages. In the meantime, Teruko freed Atsushi, disclosing her participation in Fukuchi’s scheme. Outside, former allies fought, and Fukuzawa met a well-known foe, suggesting a deeper link from their shared past.
Thirteen years later, Fukuzawa was urged to join a conflict by Fukuchi, but he resisted and decided to put an end to the conflict by killing its instigators. Fukuzawa, who believed that retribution was the motivation, was brutally stabbed by Fukuchi, profoundly altered by the destruction. Fukuchi attempted to take command of a potent weapon. The weapon was unlocked when Fukuchi tricked the UN minister into pausing. Atsushi struggled internally with a moral choice but was driven by his friends to warn Fukuzawa and escape Teruko’s grip.
Back in Mersault, Sigma got really annoyed losing to Dazai in rock-paper-scissors. Sigma asked why he was chosen for Nikolai’s escape game. Dazai joked at first but then gave two reasons. One, Sigma’s power to predict Fyodor’s plans was super useful, and second, Dazai saved Sigma from Fyodor. Sigma felt lonely compared to Dazai’s connection with the Agency. Suddenly, Fyodor and Chuuya trapped them in the control center, making things intense, and Fyodor flooded the elevator before leaving.
