From Rasengan to Chidori, Masashi Kishimoto gave some of the iconic jutsu to his characters inNaruto. And though he is criticized for the irregular power scaling, it all balances out perfectly with the plot.
Sasuke’s abilities are one such example considering his clan techniques and prowess. But most of all, Kishimoto gave us a one-shot wonder by giving him an overpowered ability.
This is precisely the case with an unmatched yet powerful jutsu that was first featured in the Shippuden series. As powerful as the jutsu may be, it was only used twice during epic showdowns and battles. This further adds to its appeal as a potent S-rank jutsu.
And like most abilities and techniques, this lethal technique deserves its comeback in the sequel series. But more than that, it also ties in well with the mangaka’s refashioning and reinventing jutsu from the original series.
Sasuke’s S-rank jutsu deserves a comeback inBoruto
Sasuke Uchihais one of the strongest and pivotal characters in Kishimoto’s series. As the sole survivor of the Uchiha clan, he is a true prodigy in terms of his chakra control and nature release mastery. This is especially true for his lightning release techniques.
One of the perfect examples of this is hismastery of Chidori. Also referred to as an imperfect Rasengan, Chidori is a lethal jutsu invented by Kakashi Hatake. While one may deem it as accidental, it resonates well with the character’s persona and edginess.
Above all, hisgrowth and developmentin the series as a character is commendable. Be it summoning jutsu, dojutsu, or swordsmanship, he is a true prodigy when it comes to combat.
This is especially true for his fluency in lightning release. But there’s a technique so powerful that it stands iconic, yet grossly underutilized for the most part.

Of all the S-rank jutsu used by Sasuke, Kirin is one of thestrongest techniquesthat remains squandered for the most part. It was first used by him during his fight with Itachi which overwhelmed the latter completely. The fight also underlined his intellect and brilliance in many aspects.
It was also used during his final battle withNarutowhich was nothing short of an intense showdown. In all honesty, the jutsu deserves its much-needed comeback in the sequel series. It would tie in well with Kishimoto’s refashioning of iconic jutsu from the original series.

Masashi Kishimoto’ssequel series is all about the comeback. While fleshing out the Otsutsuki lore, the series brought back some of the iconic jutsu from the original series. Rasengan and Flying Raijin is one such example of a refashioned jutsu.
To mapBoruto’sgrowth, the mangaka toppled the dependency on the old power system through its reinvention. The protagonist outlined his brilliance as a genius in cracking the code with both A-rank and S-rank jutsu.
Interestingly, Kishimoto may havetailored Rasengan Uzuhikoafter Chidori Current. Both techniques bear similarities in terms of their lethality. And while it isn’t confirmed, most fans have pointed to the similitude.
Moreover, Boruto’s modification of both Hiraishin and Rasengan is a breakaway in most aspects. But especially, it overshadows the past criticisms that deemed him incapable of growth.

Besides clones, the comebacks of iconic techniques and characters are probably the best thing to happen to the franchise. Whether or not Kishimoto decides on Kirin’s comeback is uncertain. Regardless of that, it stands as an iconic feat nonetheless.
