Blue Lock was confirmed to run for 24 episodes in two different cours. With episode 12, the first cour of the series is finally over, and the second cour will start after a short break of two weeks. So there’s still some time left for us to enjoy the 3 vs. 3 match of the second selection process between Isagi, Nagi, Bachira, and Itoshi, Aryu, and Tokimitsu. But there’s no doubt in saying that the upcoming match is going to be a heart-pumping one. While Itoshi and his team are the top three players of the regime, Isagi and his team fall far below.
What Happened Previously On Blue Lock?
Episode 12 of Blue Lock began with Isagi in the selection room where he is given a ball, shortly after, a blue hologram figure appears near the goal. Isagi figures out that he needs to score the goal while the hologram will have to save it. A 90-minute timer then appears on the screen, and it is revealed that he must score 100 goals before the timer ends. Isagi starts scoring goals and sees it as an opportunity to hone his weapon. After 30 minutes, the second round starts, and more holograms are added to save the goal.
Teieri and Ego are watching Isagi on a TV screen, and she explains how the technology used in the Blue Lock regime is similar to what the top clubs of the world use. Ego says that those who survived so far by luck will find this selection difficult, but the others will take it as an opportunity to polish their skills. In the meantime, Isagi has scored 60 goals, and now the level is upgraded to the max. The defender holograms begin to move and the balls shot at Isagi are spinning.

Thanks to all the physical training and his experience with Chigiri, Bachira, and Kunigami, Isagi is able to maintain his stamina and score 100 goals on time. With this, he completes the first round of the second selection process. As he enters the second room, the players are told to form a pair of three players.
Bachira also arrives shortly after and forms a team with Isagi. Nagi approaches Isagi and asks him to join the team with him and Reo, but he denies his offer. To everyone’s surprise, Nagi then asks if he could join their team of three players as he wants to play soccer with him. Reo is upset at the situation but lets Nagi join Isagi’s squad, after which they head to the 3rd room.
As they enter the room, they meet the top three players of Blue Lock, Rin Itoshi, Jyubei Aryu, and Aoshi Tokimitsu. Ego appears on the screen and explains the rules of the 3 vs. 3 games and how the winning team will steal one of the losing team’s players, forming a four-player team. Again, after the match between 4 vs. 4 teams, the winner will steal a player and become 5 player team.
Itoshi tells his teammates that he doesn’t consider them and Blue Lock more than a stepping stone to join the national team and surpass his brother. At the end of the episode, Isagi confronts Rin Itoshi and offers to play the 3 vs. 3 match against them.
