PlayStation VR received some thrilling titles during its life period with PS4 over the last years. FromResident Evil 7’s VR version toAstroBot: Rescue Missionwhich was a ground-breaking experience in VR in the flavor of many reviewers. However, you shouldn’t forget aboutBlood & Truthif you are intoBond-style action-packed games.
Developed by Sony’s London Studio,Blood & Truthwas a moderately short but completely exciting experience in PSVR that manages to receive mostly positive reviews from fans and media. The game brought some first-person action-packed, high-octane scenes to VR with brilliant visuals. Now, it seems the same team is hard at work to bring a new experience to PS5.
According tothe LinkedIn pageof London Studio’s VFX Lead, he is working on a PS5 game, but no further details have been provided around the new project yet. It’s yet to be seen whether it would be a VR-only experience on PS5 or a brand new IP with non-VR gameplay hitting Sony’s 9th-gen console.
Furthermore, if you take a look at the studio’s job listing page, they are currently hiring aLead Online Programmerfor their “next big title.” Apparently, the upcoming game from London Studios will have some online features and that’s what makes the project interesting since Sony doesn’t usually invest in online games in its first-party studios.
PlayStation Studios currently have a bunch of anticipated games in development. Santa Monica Studios is supposed to deliverGod of War Ragnarok, Polyphony Digital is working on the next mainline entry of theGran Turismoseries, and Guerrilla Games is working onHorizon 2: Forbidden West. The fun part is all these big projects are slated to launch in 2021, which makes it a great year for PS5.
Sony’s London Studio was formed in 2002, almost 18 years ago when PS2 was the company’s cutting-edge gaming technology. Since then, the studio hasn’t worked on many various franchises, but now it seems Sony is eager to invest more in its talented team in London.
