TheBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Waranime series has been getting a lot of love and appreciation from fans, and the main reason behind it is the changes within the narrative. These changes have been approved by creator Tite Kubo in an attempt to get a better conclusion than the one that was seen within the manga series. These changes include plot shifts, better character developments, enhanced fight scenes, etc.

In terms of the narrative, the one change that has proved to be a significant success is the development of the supporting characters, who were left unattended in the manga. These characters added a lot of structure to the narrative and thus deserved this chance that theBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Waranime has been offering.
One such supporting character who deserves a moment of shine is Hinamori Momo, the lieutenant of the 5th Division of the Gotei 13. Momo had to suffer a lot at the hands of Sosuke Aizen, her former captain, and the portrayal of this suffering led to Renji Abarai’s voice actor, Kentaro Ito empathizing with theBleachcharacter.

Renji Abarai’s Voice Actor Reveals His FavoriteBleachCharacter
The officialBleachanimewebsite recently shared a special interview that they conducted with Renji Abarai’s voice actor. During the interview, Ito revealed a great deal of information about Renji’s character, his experience, and the narrative ofBleachin general. He was even asked about his favoriteBleachcharacter, and to fans’ surprise, it was not Renji.
Mayuri’s Concerning Experiments in Bleach Could Have Been Much Darker That Made Him More than Just a Morally Grey Character
Ito stated:
As a reader, my favorite character is Hinamori Momo. I like the relationship between Hinamori and Hitsugaya, and I love everything about Hinamori, from her devoted devotion to Captain Aizen when he was kind, to her gentle and fragile nature towards everyone even though she has the ability of a vice captain.
According to the voice actor, Hinamori Momo might be an underrated character with a fragile nature. The amount of emotional destruction and devastation that she received in the narrative was not justifiable considering her character.

One of the main culprits behind this was her former Captain, Sosuke Aizen. As fans know, Aizen is probably the biggest villain inBleachand one of the reasons why he attained this title is because of the way he duped the entire Soul Society, includinghis closest ally, Hinamori Momo.
Kentaro Ito Was Worried About Hinamori Momo
Further explaining his appreciation for Hinamori Momo’s character inBleach,Ito revealed that whenTite Kuboshocked the entire world with the revelations about Aizen, he was more worried about Momo’s character. He pointed out that he was scared about what would happen to her character and where she would go from there.
When Aizen’s true nature was revealed, rather than being surprised and thinking, “Oh, so that’s it!?”, I empathized with Hinamori and worried, wondering, “What’s going to happen after this…!?” as I read “Jump” (laughs).

When Momo’s character was introduced inBleachshe was an upbeat and easy-going girl who was kind and just to everyone. While she was not one of the main characters, she certainly left a presence and finally whenshe was betrayed by Aizen, her entire world came falling down.
Even Fans Must Have Forgotten Bleach’s Most Unexplored Technique that was Overshadowed by Bankai
Thus, Kubo has a chance to give her a proper moment inBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warwhere she can shine and prove herself. The anime series is specially focused on such characters and Hinamori Momo feels like the perfect candidate for it.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood Waris available to watch on Hulu.
