It’s been a busy 24 hours forCall of Duty: Black Ops 6leakers. After revealing that the upcoming shooter will potentiallyrevamp Call of Duty’s controversial UI, the same leaker has now revealed that Black Ops 6 will feature “omnidirectional movement,” similar to the likes of Max Payne.

“Black Ops 6 will reportedly allow players to dive in all directions, similar to Max Payne,” Call of Duty leakerBobNetworkUK said on X(formerly Twitter). “The game will also allow players to sprint in all directions. This combined functionality has been referred to several times as ‘Omnidirectional Movement’. Sliding returns too.”

Almost Half Of PlayStation Gamers Still Prefer To Play Call Of Duty On PS4

Half of Call of Duty players are still playing on PlayStation’s last-gen console.

With different developers at the helm of Call of Duty each year (rotating between Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward, and Treyarch Studios), the movement and features included in each entry can often vary. Treyarch Studios is well-known for a more ‘arcade-like’ approach with faster movement, faster time-to-kill, and faster weapon handling/mobility.

Alongside your usual sprinting mechanics, Call of Duty often implements other movement elements, such as sliding or dolphin diving. While it varies from year to year as to which mechanics are included, the core formula vary rarely changes. But with new omnidirectional movements in the works, Black Ops 6 could feature some massive changes to the series' movement system.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the first entry in the series to have four years of development time, so it’s no surprise that we could be seeing plenty of new features, given the duration of time Treyarch has had to develop the new title. It was also revealed by BobNetworkUK that the popular Theater Mode could be returning with this year’s entry. It was last seen in Black Ops Cold War and allows players to revisit their games to clip, edit, save, re-watch, and more.

There’s no word on a release date just yet, but Activision is gearing up to host a special Black Ops 6 Direct event tomorrow, June 9, immediately after Xbox’s upcoming games showcase. Rumours suggest that Black Ops 6 will once again be launching at either the end of October or the start of November, but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow for a firm release date.
