Status effects come in both good and bad forms. Good status effects are almost always in the form of a buff. These buffs can make you more resistant to certain types of damage, haveutility effects, extend the duration of other effects, and have you dealing out more damage or a combination of those previously listed. However, there are also negative effects.

Baldur’s Gate 3has a negative effect called Flesh Rot. This is an effect you will want to do away with as soon as you can, as it will only get worse and can result inone of your companionsmeeting a grizzly end to their journey.

What Is Flesh Rot?
Flesh Rotis one of the manydiseasesyou can face in Baldur’s Gate 3. This disease will cause those who are affected tolose both health and staminaover time. This can result in them not only underperforming but put them inchescloser to deathso long as they have this condition.
You cannot just restand be better like in a lot of RPGs. This is a disease, and you will actively need torid the character of it.Otherwise, they will be plagued by it for theduration of the game.

How To Remove Flesh Rot
There are plenty of ways you canremove this disease, but you will need one of the following classes to do so:Bard,Cleric,Druid,Paladin, orRanger. Theearliest spellthat will be able to remove it will beLesser Restoration, which is an easy one for yourresident cleric, Shadowheart, to quickly prepare and use when needed. However, this is asecond-level spell, and you may find yourself needing help in curing this diseasebeforeyour character is a high enough level to cast it. Thankfully, there is an option that can cure this right from thestart of the game.
Regardless of subclass choice, the Paladinwill haveLay On Hands, a feature that canremove diseasefrom thevery first level. If you do not have a Paladin inyour party composition, but you do have one of theothers, make asaveand make it your priority inlevelingthem up. You can usehealingspells andhealth potionsto fend off the disease until then.
