Each one of yourparty membersinBaldur’s Gate 3can equip one amulet in an equipment slot. A central part of the total loadout, amulets by themselves are not very powerful and offer mostly supporting skills to round off abuild. This means players should mainly be looking to build synergy and shoring up weaknesses when deciding on which amulet to equip on which character.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Beats Honor Mode In Incredible Record Time
There are some very creative techniques at play.
We’ve combed through all available amulets in Act 1 and created a list of the best ones available. We’ll be detailing their benefits, where to find them, and how you should use them. Here’s the breakdown.
Baldur’s Gate 3
10The Blast Pendant
Special Effect
Lightning Blast: When activated, your next lightning cantrip or spell will deal additional lightning damage equal to the number of accumulatedLightning Chargesas abonus action. All Lightning Charges get consumed.
How To Get
Can be looted from one of the petrified drows just outside the Selunite Outpost in the Underdark.
The Blast Pendant requires that you’ve equipped the other Lightning Charge equipment, like theJoltshooterandThe Sparkle Hands, to function. Act 1 is littered with these items, so you should have a full set before you get to the Underdark.

With a complete Lightning Charge build, The Blast Pendant allows you to use the charges you’ve accumulated to deal extra damage to enemies. This is one of the only ways to use Lightning Charges offensively, so you’ll want to use this amulet to complete the build if you already have the other Lightning gear.
9Uncovered Mysteries
Gain the ability to castDetect Thoughts. Recharges on long rest.
Obtained by looting a gilded chest near theArcane Tower Elevatorin the Underdark.
Detect Thoughts is one of those spells that at least one person in your party should always know. With Detect Thoughts on your ‘face character,’ when you talk to certain NPCs, you’ll get the option to cast the spell on them to detect what’s going on in their head, provided you pass the necessary checks (INT or WIS).

At least one person in the party should always know Detect Thoughts.
While not always as useful as it seems, it is nonetheless a quality-of-life spell to have in your prepared spell list. If your main character is not one of the classes that naturally learns Detect Thoughts (Bard,Druid,Wizard, orSorcerer), having the Uncovered Mysteries amulet can pick up the slack.

8The Spectator Eyes
Gain the ability to cast two level 3 spells: Ray of Fear and Wounding Ray. Recharges onlong rest.
Obtained bydefeating the Spectatornear the petrified drow in theUnderdark.
The Spectator Eyes amulet gives you access to two spells, Ray of Fear and Wounding Ray. Both spells are exclusive to the amulet, meaning you cannot learn them on anyclassjust byleveling up. You need the Spectator’s Eyes to cast them.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Every Main Character & Their Voice Actor
Baldur’s Gate 3 has a massive cast list. Here are some of the most prominent among them.
Ray of Fear is a single-target spell that inflicts the Frightened status on an enemy if they fail a DC 13 WISsave. Wounding Ray is also a single-target spell that deals 2d8 necrotic damage when cast. If the target succeeds in a CON save, they take half the damage. Equip the amulet on a non-caster class to give yourself more options. Spellcasters will likely have better spells at their disposal.

7Moondrop Pendant
Writhing Dance: When at half health or below, the wearer doesn’t provoke Attacks of Opportunity.
Can be found by solving theSelunite Prayer Sheet puzzlein theOwlbear Nest.

Moondrop Pendant can work both on your tankiest party members and on your weakest links. Frontliners likeFightersorBarbariansare usually the ones who need to worry the most about Attack of Opportunity as they’re the ones typically in the thick of things and would get the most use out of the Moondrop Pendant.
Moondrop Pendant is suitable for both the strongest and the weakest party members.
But if you find yourself constantly having to save your backliners like squishy spellcasters or rogues (this happens a lot when the AI is smarter), giving the Pendant to these characters can be a great idea to help them get out of tough spots.
6The Amulet of Lost Voices
Gain the ability to castSpeak With Dead. Recharges on long rest.
Obtained by looting a chest in the room where you findWithers(Dank Crypt).
The ability to cast Speak With Dead opens up a ton of dialogue options by giving you the ability to talk to enemies you kill or dead bodies you find during your adventures.Certain missionseven require you to have the ability to cast this spell to be completed. Some information is only known to the dead.
The big benefit to this amulet is that you get it practically right from the start of the game. Withers' chamber in the Dank Crypt is one of the very first places you should explore after you land on the beach, making the Amulet of Lost Voices one of the first pieces of equipment you’re likely to get.
5Amulet of Restoration
Gain the ability to cast Healing Word (Level 1) and Mass Healing Word (level 3) once per long rest.
Can be bought fromDerryth Bonecloakin the Myconid Colony in the Underdark.
By the time you get to Derryth, you’ll likely be around level 4-5, depending on which areas you explored beforehand. This means that if you have a Cleric in your party, you’ll already have access to Mass Healing Word asClericslearn this spell at level 5. It is arguably one of the best healing spells to use in combat.
Mass Healing Word is one of the best in-combat healing spells.
The main benefit of the Amulet of Restoration is that you can give it to someone other than your Cleric, giving you the option to cast this spell twice in one combat cycle, healing your party to near full easily. Knowing Healing Word on top of it is a nice bonus, but nothing to write home about.
4Psychic Spark
Psychic Missiles: Every Magic Missile you cast shoots an additional dart when cast.
Gain the ability to cast Magic Missile (Level 1) once per long rest.
Can be bought from Blurg in theMyconid Colonyin the Underdark.
Magic Missiles remain one of the most reliable means of dealing damage in the entire game. Even though this is a level 1 spell, it can beupcastto deal more and more damage with higher spell slots, allowing it to retain its usefulness at higher levels.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Where To Find Dammon
Looking for Dammon in Baldur’s Gate 3? We can help!
Upcasting the spell with higher spell slots will mean you fire one additional dart for 1d4+1 damage on top of the standard three. With Psychic Spark, it’s like every time you cast the spell, you automatically give it the Upcasting bonus without having to spend a higher tier spell slot. It’s one of the most useful amulets in the game forspellcasterswho like to cast Magic Missile to finish off low-health targets.
3Periapt of Wound Closure
Wound Closure: If the wearer gets downed, they automatically stabilize at the start of the turn.
Potent Healing: Heals restore the maximum allowed HP points (Same effect as Beacon of Hope spell).
Can be bought fromLady Estherin theMountain Passnear the exit to theShadow-Cursed Lands.
Getting downed is a common occurrence, particularly on higher difficulties. A couple of lucky crits are all it takes to bring a party member from 100 to 0 in one turn. Having the option to give the Periapt of Wound Closure to your most vulnerable party members can be a game changer as it prevents them from straight up dying after getting downed (you still need to help them up). This can save you the pain of having to expend aRevivify scroll.
Potent Healing ensures you always get healed for the maximum amount when using healing spells or potions.
Potent Healing is also an excellent buff as it allows you to get the most out of your potions and healing spells, especially out of combat. This effect makes it so that if a healing potion heals for 4-10 HP points, it always heals you for 10 HP points when the amulet is equipped. This is also very useful in combat as it can ensure that at least one party member always gets the most out of any healing.
2Amulet of Misty Step
Gain the ability to castMisty Step(Level 2) once per short rest.
Can be found inside a chest in theDefiled Templeinside theGoblin Campnear the female Ogre’s patrol route.
Misty Step is one of the most useful spells in the early game, as it allows you to teleport a really long distance using only a bonus action. An amulet that allows one of your party members to learn this spell is huge, as it can vastly boost the effectiveness of your lowest mobility character.
The hiding spot of the Amulet of Misty Step is in the Defiled Temple, and it can be easy to miss if you’ve not explored the Goblin Camp from top to bottom. ensure to go back and find it if you’ve already progressed to the Underdark or the Mountain Pass. It’s just that useful.
1Necklace Of Elemental Augmentation
Elemental Augmentation: Add your Spellcasting Modifier to the damage dealt when castingcantripsdealing Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Thunder damage.
Can be found in a display case in the Inquisitor’s chamber inCreche Y’llek.
The Necklace of Elemental Augmentation only works on Cantrips, but even then, it is one of the more powerful Amulets in all of Act 1 because it adds straight damage to your spellcasting without any fluff. With this amulet equipped, any time you cast a damage-dealing elemental damage cantrip like Fire Bolt, your spellcasting modifier will be added to the damage roll.
If you’re aSorcererwith 18 Charisma, it means your spellcasting modifier is +4, so any time you cast Fire Bolt, a straight +4 will be added to the final damage roll. Combine this with something like thePotent Robe, and you’re looking at a truly busted build.
