Comics books andMortal Kombattend to go hand in hand quite well. Whether its the fantastically writtenMortal Kombat Xprelude series released by DC Comics a few years ago, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3’s crossover titleMortal Kombat vs DC Universeor even the abysmal old 1990s run of Malibu comics; there’s a long-running checkered history between the two. However, the classic fighting game series has never crossed paths with the Marvel universe. Having said that, one particular piece of fan art will make you wish that it had. With the wheels in motion forMortal Kombat 11,the upcoming instalment in the franchise, Warner Bros. recently launched theMK Kollectiveto coincide with the title. Put quite simply, the MK Kollective is a way for creators to show off theirMortal Kombatrelated creations including cosplay, sculptures, fan art, and more. One of the MK Kollective’s 20 official ambassadorsBossLogicis a well-renowned illustrator. A recent series of tweets saw him recreating Thanos' infinity gauntlet from Avengers: Infinity War in a number of different art styles. The most popular of which had aMortal Kombattwist to it.The image, which can be seen in the tweet below, displays a gauntlet which sports the same color scheme asMortal Kombat’sposter boy Scorpion. The glove features armor plating and straps similar to those seen on his costumes in recent games. Where the infinity stones should usually slot into the knuckles, we instead see hellfire bursting out surrounded by hot smoke. The main focal points of the image are the traditionalMortal Kombatdragon emblem embedded in the back of the gauntlet while Scorpion’s fist tightens around his iconic weapon.Mortal Kombat 11will launch on July 30, 2025, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and even Nintendo Switch.
