If you thoughtAttack on Titanwas over, you couldn’t be more wrong. The makers are going to squeeze out as much content as they can from Hajime Isayama’s popular anime-manga series. However, it might be a good thing as seeing the brutal imagery and the exciting final fight on the silver screen would be a top-tier experience. Moreover, there’s a new post-credit scene as revealed by the official X handle ofAttack on Titan.

The picture shows AOT characters from Attack on School Castes

A still from the scene features “nerd Armin” and “Goth Mikasa” fromAttack on School Castes. Goth Mikasa closely resembles a character fromDeath Note, who was unfairly sidelined by Tsugumi Ohba. But before we delve into that, who is Goth Mikasa?

Everything You Need to Know About Goth Mikasa fromThe Last Attack

At the end of several volumes ofAttack on Titanmanga,Hajime Isayamadrew special scenes that featured alternate versions of the characters. Most of the characters have modern outfits, as opposed to the Survey Corps uniform. Armin wears glasses and is presumably a nerd, whereas Mikasa wears a checkered skirt with dark accessories, resembling a goth girl with that outfit.

The official X handle ofAttack on Titanshows a stillfrom the post-credit scene that shows theSchool Castesversion of the central trio. It’ll be interesting to see how the scene is incorporated with the main storyline as it’ll be the first proper interaction between the canon universe and the alternate universe. The characters have also appeared in brief glimpses during the final season of the anime.

While that’s the origin and lore of Goth Mikasa, she closely resembles Misa Amane fromDeath Note. Interestingly, some other parallels can also be drawn between the two characters beyond their identical appearances.

Goth Mikasa Instantly Reminds us of Misa Amane fromDeath Note

Misa Amane is the original goth queen as proclaimed by her fans. She rocks her checkered skirts paired up with corset tops and chokers. Sometimes, she switches it around by wearing more soft outfits as well. Her outfits are a mix of goth, punk, and many other aesthetics. Goth Mikasa wears a similar outfit and instantly takes us back to the thrilling scenes ofDeath Note.

While Misa is definitely an icon for her fashion choices,Tsugumi Ohbafailed to do justice to her character otherwise. Misa was selfish and devoted to Light. However, she was sidelined and her presence was limited to her interactions with Light. She was an interesting character who could have been fleshed out beyond her visual appeal.

While Mikasa is much better in comparison, she starts off similarly where her devotion to Eren is almost overbearing. However, she makes difficult choices near the end, and she’s easily one of the best female fighters in the history of anime. There were instances where Isayama fumbled hard with her character but her character arc was significantly better than Misa, who was conveniently forgotten in the plot progression ofDeath Note.
