To be a master alchemist, you are going to need to do quite a bit of exploring. Not only will this help you find rare materials needed to craft recipes, but it will also occasionally be the only way for you to find some of the recipes themselves.

As you continue leveling up throughout the game, you’ll unlock most of the recipes for your weapons, items, and materials by spending skill points in the skill tree. But one of the most unique weapon recipes in the game can only actually be discovered in the wild. This guide will show you where to find the recipe for one of Ryza’s most powerful weapons, theMistral Cane.

Where To Find The Two-Handed Staff Recipe

Surprisingly, this recipe can be found fairly early in the game since it is located in the Kark Islands. First, you’ll need to make sure you have crafted and equipped an Emerald Band, which will allow you to cast a magical rope to reach otherwise unreachable areas. You can unlock the recipe on the skill tree by moving left from the center of the tree. The Emerald Band recipe is located just past the Gathering: Quantity Boost Lv. 1 upgrade.

With your Emerald Band equipped, fast travel to the Blue Spring Life landmark. From here, face east and make your way to the unnamed island between Erupting Hill and Blue Life Spring (map image). There will be a giant rock structure in the center of it. Locate the side of the structure where you can climb up a few of the rocks, and you’ll find the spot where you can use the Emerald Band. This will catapult you to the very top of the rock structure where you’ll find the treasure chest containing the recipe.

Crafting Mistral Cane

Now that you have the recipe, it’s time to get to crafting. The key ingredients you’ll need to have first are ingots and white shell pearls, both of which are fairly easy to acquire. Once you have acquired the necessary materials, you may begin crafting the staff.

This weapon build is incredibly simple when compared to some of the later weapons you’ll craft, but that doesn’t mean it’s not powerful, especially when crafted with high-level materials. This staff has a unique Antimaterial skill that dramatically increases the power of your Core Items while increasing the CC cost. While this does mean that you won’t be able to use items as frequently in battle, the incredible boost to damage is well worth it, allowing you to tear through even the strongest of enemies near the end of the game.
