Yusei Matsui’s prominent manga series,Assassination Classroom, has been a topic of discussion since the story began in 2012. The series has quite a big fanbase, and the aspect that intrigues its fans the most is the unique storyline that explores the themes of science fiction, comedy, drama, and thrill. However, the uniqueness of the story has become a problem for the series.

Assassination Classroomfollows the lives of a bunch of misfit students of Class 3-E who are tasked with killing their teacher. Their teacher is, in fact, an alien with unprecedented powers who has claimed to destroy Earth within one year. But the enticing aspect of the story is that the teacher himself teaches the art of assassination to his students.
While the narrative certainly sounds eccentric, many people are not happy with the different elements ofAssassination Classroom. Thus, the series has suffered a ban in the South Carolina School District after a complaint was lodged against the series promoting killing, handguns, knives, etc.

She even pointed out that“there’s girls in lingerie hopping on top of men in the book.”The most concerning thing, according to her, however, was the fact that the students in the series discuss the plans on how to kill their teacher. Whilethis is not the goal of the story, it certainly provides the wrong idea to the children asAssassination Classroomis part of the Shonen genre.
The books were temporarily removed from libraries in October as they underwent review by the District Reconsideration Committee, which was formed to assess the contents of this book in accordance with District Policies. After the review, it was recommended that the book should be removed and the ban will not be challenged for the next five years.
