With the Xbox Series X on the horizon later this year, Microsoft has shown that we can expect several of the company’s key franchises on the system, such as the upcomingHalo Infiniteanda revival of theFableseries. However, Microsoft is also highlighting some of the new and unique experiences that we’ll get to see come to life on the Xbox Series X, including the newly-revealed mystery title,As Dusk Falls.
During the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft shared the reveal trailer for a new title calledAs Dusk Fallsfrom developer Interior/Night. As seen in the trailer,As Dusk Fallsis a narrative-focused “interactive drama” that seems to have heavy mystery elements to it, and will have players make tough decisions throughout the experience.
According to Microsoft, the game is “an original interactive drama” that “explores lives of two families across thirty years.” The game’s story seems to be set in motion with “a robbery-gone-wrong in small town Arizona,” and the player’s choices “will have a powerful impact on this epic story of sacrifice, betrayal, and resilience.”
The developer Interior/Night is composed of former developers from Sony and Quantic Dream, and from what we’ve seen in the trailer so far, the game definitely has the vibe of titles likeHeavy RainandBeyond: Two Souls. However, the game’s striking paint-like art style definitely seems interesting, andAs Dusk Fallsseems like an interesting addition to the more action-focused lineup of games that have been announced so far on Xbox Series X. We also haven’t seen many other games in this style from Xbox’s first-party lineup, so it will be interesting to see how this title can fill that narrative space for the platform.
As Dusk Fallsis currently in development for Xbox Series X and PC, though no specific release window or date has been announced for the game just yet.
