AGDQ 2021 Concludes as the Event Raises $2.7 Million for Charity

One of my favorite events of the year has come to a close. On top of that, the event had switched over to an online format this year rather than being held in-person. The stream went pretty smoothly for the most part.

The AGDQ runs featured some of the typical mainstays for the event, plus some runs were added that had a wackier twist to them. One example would be theCelestespeedrun where the runners could only use Dancepads or a blindfolded run ofSuper Mario 64. But the show ended with my favorite game to watch anyone speedrun:The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

However, we did get some new additions to the schedule as well.Hadeswas a welcome new addition to the event. I believe there was even aZelda: The Wand of Gamelonspeedrun in there.

While the world has started to look like it is going down the toilet, I am happy to see that this event can still take place and raise an astronomical amount of money for a great cause. As someone who has had family members pass from cancer and currently has another going through cancer treatments, It always makes my heart warm when I see my favorite hobby and others who share the same sentiment raise so much money for the cause.
