The first season of HBO’sThe Penguinreached its conclusion and ended on a high note, but more than the emotional and tragic finale, it also gave hints at what fans can look forward to in the upcomingThe Batman Part IIfilm.

In many of the scenes throughout the series, there might have been tiny details that served as clues regarding the next villain of the franchise, and no matter how small these might have seemed, it’s impossible for fans not to notice them. We’re talking about the villain Hush.
The PenguinTeased Possible Hush Appearance inThe Batman Part II
A fan shared onTwittera snippet fromColin Farrell’sThe Penguin, and it showed a minor detail that points to the iconic Batman antagonist, Hush. In one shot, the signage Elliot Bridge can be seen, and in a live report in 2022’sThe Batman, someone named Edward Elliot was shown on the screen.
At this point, it’s pretty obvious who the main villain of The Batman Part II will be. (emphasis on main, there will be more than one for sure)pic.twitter.com/2XRK7lmBDm

These cannot be just coincidences as avid fans of theBatmancomics will easily recognize that the Elliot clan is one of the most powerful and influential families in Gotham City. In fact, they were the founders of the place. As perDC, Edward Elliot was the great-great-grandfather of Thomas Elliot, the villain who would become Hush.
The character has a pretty solid storyline that would fit an antagonistic arc inThe Batmansequel. Hush used to be a friend of Bruce Wayne, but he held a grudge against the hero and his family for foiling his plan to murder his own parents so he could inherit their fortune.

IfMatt Reevesshowed fans this clue inThe Batman, and Lauren LeFranc hid a little Easter egg inThe Penguinas well, it might be time to give this supervillain his big break. Many fans wish for other figures like Mr. Freeze or Harvey Dent to show up inRobert Pattinson’s movie sequel but we cannot deny that the clues are all there.
Will Matt Reeves Bring Mr. Freeze Back in HisBatmanMovies?
It’s obvious that Matt Reeves prefers working with Batman villains who are grounded in reality. However, he isn’t closing his door on the possibility of reintroducingMr. Freezeto the new audience. Many would rememberArnold Schwarzeneggerbrilliantly portrayed the character inBatman & Robin(1997), and it would be fantastic to know the filmmaker’s take on the villain.

During an interview withCollider, the director shared his thoughts on the potential adaptation of Mr. Freeze in his version of Batman:
I just feel drawn to finding the grounded version of everything. So, to me, it would be a challenge in an interesting way to try and figure out how that could happen, even the idea of something like Mr. Freeze.

He added that there could be a grounded version of that story that he could play with and match his signature gloomy and dark film aesthetic. Presently, though, it seems like the character isn’t a top choice for a Batman villain.
The Penguinis available to watch on HBO.
