Now, the burning question remains, after all these years and all these iconic characters, does Ford regret stepping back into Indy’s boots for one last ride? In a chat withThe Wall Street Journal Magazine, he explained,
Sh-t happens, I was really the one who felt there was another story to tell. When [Indy] had suffered the consequences of the life that he had to live, I wanted one more chance to pick him up and shake the dust off his a– and stick him out there, bereft of some of his vigor, to see what happened. I’m still happy I made that movie.
In the end, Ford’s decision to return to Indy wasn’t about the reception, it was about the story he felt was worth telling. He followed his instincts, brought the character to a place that felt true to him, and did it with no regrets. He stepped into the whole ordeal with no script, no idea what the character would be, but one clear goal, to work in a place where everyone has a good time.
In the same WSJ chat, he explained,
Again, no script, Why not? I saw enough Marvels to see actors that I admired having a good time.I didn’t really know that at the end I would turn into the Red Hulk, Well, it’s like life. You only get so far in the kit until the last page of the instructions is missing.
Now that Ford has jumped into this new challenge, he’s fully ready to embrace it. Red Hulk is set to be a key player in the MCU’s upcoming lineup, and fans are beyond excited to see the character finally come to life on the big screen. Ford seems to have had a great time working on the project. He’s hoping that when fans finally see it, they’ll feel the same thrill he did during the making of the film.
Captain America: Brave New World is set to hit the IMAX screens on February 14th, 2025.
