January isn’t over yet. And the A$AP Rocky-Terell Ephron trial has already taken a new turn. What began 3 years back as a feud between friends will come to an end 3 weeks from now – with a verdict that could very well seal the 36-year-old’s life.
As the LA trial picks pace, things are bound to get real tense soon. Accusations will fly, and friendships will be forgotten. If live updates from the trial are anything to go by, all that has already begun, with Rocky’s attorney having some major comments on Ephron.

A$AP Rockyand Terell Ephron have known each other since childhood. The latter had been at Rocky’s side over the course of his meteoric rise to fame. He was there when the rapper started courtingRihanna. He was there when he walked away with major honors.

Yet something snapped in November 2021. Things had been sour between the friends for some time then. And the conflict came to a boil on 6th November 2021, when things got heated. And it’s all on camera. The surveillance videos allegedly show theSundressrapper pointing a gun toward his old pal.
It is alleged that on the fateful night, Rocky fired some shots at his good old friend during the scuffle. While fans worldwide were waiting for the air around the incident to be cleared, attempts were being made between the parties to come to a mutual understanding.

For context, the rapper has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. The last prosecution plea offer would have seen the rapper plead guilty to one of his two felony counts and serve 180 days in prison. That was not something A$AP agreed to. And if things don’t go his way, he could end up spending even 24 years in jail.
A$AP Rocky’s attorney brings Terell Ephron’s intentions into question
The stakes are, no wonder, high. And defense attorney Joe Tacopina has wasted no time making his stand clear. In the defense opening video, A$AP Rocky’s lawyer fired the opening salvo, pointing out that the trial was one driven by Ephron’s‘jealousy, lies and greed’.
Terell Ephron is truly the main man in the case. And Tacopina believes that he is not someone you can rely upon. He said,
This case rises or falls on his credibility.(Sky News)
His primary contention? That what seemed like a gun was actually just a‘starter pistol’.What the rapper shot were actually ‘blanks’ from a gun that he carried solely for his protection. The prosecution of course has a different story.
Deputy District Attorney Paul Przelomiec said,
The evidence in this case will show that the man in the black sweatshirt (the man who pulls out a gun and points it at Ephron) is the defendant, Rakim Mayers (A$AP Rocky’s legal name). That evidence will be uncontradicted.
