Blake Lively Completely Missed the Main Theme of It Ends With Us

Blake Lively came quickly under the radar when she completely missed the main theme of the movie. It Ends with Usis based on Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name and centers around the story of Lily (Lively) and her abusive relationship with neurosurgeon Ryle (Baldoni). Hover based this book on theabusive marriage of her own parents, further making it deeply personal for fans.

While many related to her novel, the promotion of the movie, on the other hand, placed this sensitive theme in a very lighthearted manner. She added:

“There’s so much money to be made”: Taylor Swift’s Masterplan to Conquer BFF Blake Lively’s Territory After Her Downfall – Report

It was portrayed more so as a chick flick, like, ‘Grab your friends, wear your nice prints and come over here and watch this movie.’ And that’s not what it was about.

Further on how she could relate to Colleen Hoover’s novel on a very personal level, she added:

A lot of us that read the book and that relate to Lily are not going there because of the floral prints or the hair or the clothes. We’re going there because we want to see ourselves on the big screen.

It was because of this that many fans even showcased their disappointment on social media by adding that they no longer plan to watch the movie.

I made a silly post around the ‘photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I’m sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always.

This didn’t go down well with the public, who called her out on her poor judgment and said that she should have been mindful of her comments being a mother herself.

Major Backlash for promoting her own brands during It Ends with Us promotional Tour

Last but definitely not least, the actress chose the promotional events ofIt Ends with Usto promote herliquor brand, Betty Booze.Further, this led many to criticize the fact that this definitely didn’t match the heavy subjects that the movie was dealing with.
