FromSoftware has once again lived up to the well-known difficulty of its expansions withElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

Whether it’s the bosses, elite enemies, or dungeons, the DLC is more demanding than the base game, offering multiple obstacles that have prevented many players from continuing.

However, not everything in the Realm of Shadow is challenging, as there are plenty of hazards that are threatening only in name.

So, if you’re looking for solace after Messmer has defeated you dozens of times or if you’re looking to get easy runes, I recommend you check out thisranked list of the ten easiest bosses in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

10Dancer of Ranah

The Easiest Mausoleum

Location(s)

Southern Nameless Mausoleum

Dancing Blade of Ranah,Dancer’s Set

Overall, I’d say that the mausoleums inShadow of the Erdtreeare challenging, butthat doesn’t include the one defended by theDancer of Ranah.

NPC bosses often have exploitable AI, and while this isn’t the case forBlackgaol KnightorRakshasa, it is for the Dancer.

Unlike the others, her damage relies on her ability to string multiple attacks in a row, while the rest can shred you with just one hit. As a result, there’s less punishment for making mistakes, and it’s easier to escape her combos alive.

I’ve finishedShadow of the Erdtreetwice, andDancer of Ranah is the only Mausoleum boss who has never beaten me regardless of my build, and that’s saying something.

9Demi-Human Swordmaster Onze

Coolest Demi-Human Ever

Belurat Gaol

Demi-Human Swordsman Yosh

As far as minor bosses go,Demi-Human Swordmaster Onzeis my favorite. The first time I faced him, I realized how much effort FromSoftware had put into everything for the DLC, even the minor dungeons.

Unfortunately, he has little poise and health points, making it easy to attack him mercilessly and win the fight before he pulls off each one of his spectacular moves.

Even without knowing his pattern,he’s designed in such a way that it’s manageable to react to his timing, for better or worse.

I would have preferred him to be much more of a challenge, as I’d like the action to last longer than a minute, but at least the only thing that equals his ease is how memorable he is.

8Romina, Saint of the Bud

The Only Easy Remembrance

Church of the Bud

Remembrance of the Saint of the Bud

Unlike the other Remembrance bosses, which make up every slot on thehardest bosses' list regarding the DLC,Romina, Saint of the Budis the only easy major encounter.

Elden Ring: 12 Hardest Shadow of the Erdtree Bosses Ranked

Ranking the toughest bosses that can the shadow realm home.

Despite the visual and mechanical spectacle it offers, the encounter is over before you can even stop to appreciate the work that went into its composition.

Romina is one of those bosses who would have benefited incredibly froma second phase. In fact, the encounter is so easy that it seems like it was designed to have another health bar, but it was left with only one.

It’s still an entertaining and even memorable fight, but it’s alsofar below its peers' difficulty, especially considering it’s one of the few mandatory bosses to finishShadow of the Erdtree.

7Ancient Dragon-Man

It’s Still an NPC

Dragon’s Pit

Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana

While I think giving NPCs boss health bars is an artificial way to increase the number of bosses, I do likeAncient Dragon-Man.

Because of the dungeon, its design, the drop it gives, and the area it follows, I feel it’s a good boss, butit doesn’t stand out at all for being challenging.

It has a couple of incantations, a cool Great Katana, and an easy AI to manipulate, so it isn’t difficult at any point in the journey through the DLC.

Once again, the fact that it isn’t difficult doesn’t mean it’s bad, butAncient Dragon-Man is synonymous with accessible runes and little else.

6Jagged Peak Drake

Just Another Dragon

Jagged Peak Foothills;Jagged Peak

90,000; 120,000

Dragon Heart,Dragonscale Flesh

Considering mounted combat is notoriously powerful inShadow of the Erdtree, most Torrent encounters are easy, and that includes dragons.

Elden Ring: Hardest Legacy Dungeons, Ranked

From a walk in the park to godforsaken ruins, Elden Ring’s main areas offer the biggest challenges of the game.

Despite their revamped attack patterns, specimens like theJagged Peak Drakeare a far cry from truly demanding dragons likeBayle, the Dread, and even theirbase game namesakes.

Given Torrent’s agile mobility, coupled with the damage boosts from theRevered Spirit Ash, it’s an encounter where you hit-and-run before the Drake can even react to your attacks.

The first one is asleep, and the second one is fighting another dragon, soneither of the two Jagged Peak Drakes is much of a challenge.

5Count Ymir, Mother of Fingers

A Fight of Seconds

Cathedral of Manus Metyr

Ymir’s Bell Bearing,Maternal Staff,High Priest Set

Much like Ancient Dragon-Man,Count Ymir, Mother of Fingersis a straightforward fight that, given his few attacks and the ease with which the arena makes it possible to corner him, is over in a matter of seconds.

The Fingercreepers he summons can be annoying if not dealt with quickly, but they have very little health and are unlikely to be a genuine threat.

Also, Count Ymir’s spells are easy to evade, and they don’t kill you instantly, like Sir Gideon Ofnir’s, for example.

So,he feels like a boss unnecessarily branded as such, although it’s still an interesting way to close out one of the best questlines in all ofShadow of the Erdtree.

An Effortless Gimmick

Lamenter’s Gaol

Lamenter’s Mask

The only thing challenging about fighting theLamenteris figuring out its gimmick. Once you know the trick, losing without actively trying is difficult.

Elden Ring: 15 Optional Bosses You Need To Beat

Elden Ring is packed with tough boss fights, but beyond the main story ones, most are completely optional. This list breaks down the absolute best.

While it does have a debuff that can defeat you immediately, the conditions for it to happen are tough to meet unless you’re away from the controller.

Aside from its special move, the Lamenter only attacks with its fists, so I’m being completely honest when I saythe hard part is being defeated.

Yet, I’m a fan of gimmick boss fights, so I like its inclusion. Having to go around attacking clones until you discover the real one is cool, butthey’re still Pinwheel-type clones, so there’s nothing to worry about.

3Curseblade Labirith

No Eyes, No Problem

Bonny Gaol

Curseblade Meera

Much like the Lamenter, the only thing that separatesCurseblade Labirithfrom being a regular enemy is both his health bar and the little gimmick that characterizes him.

In this case, it’s a Curseblade like the ones you can find throughout the Realm of Shadow, only with the peculiarity thatyou do so in an arena filled with darkness.

This type of enemy isn’t easy by any means, butLabirith, in particular, has considerably low life points, and he’s more passive than his counterparts.

It may vary depending on the experience of each player, but in my case, it has never taken me more than a minute to defeat it.

2Tree Sentinel

The Memory of an Entire Odyssey

Hinterlands

Blessing of Marika

While one of them in Limgrave is a prime reason why so many new players gave up early on their adventure through The Lands Between inElden Ring, there comes a point where defeatingTree Sentinelsbecomes a part of the job.

Therefore, when you encounter a pair of Tree Sentinels in the Hinterlands, it’s not only a fun little bit of lore to absorb, but also a fitting reminder ofhow far we’ve come as players.

Even if the duo were to attack you simultaneously, you’ve already faced them so many times that you’ll likely swat them away with ease.

They also have low health, and nothing in the environment can stop you from taking advantage of Torrent’s abilities to make the combat easier.

But even if it is a cakewalk, I want to stress that it’s a glorious moment, both for nostalgia andlore reasons.

1Demi-Human Queen Marigga

As Easy as in the Base Game

Cerulean Coast

Star-Lined Sword

Regarding the base game, I don’t think there’s an easier boss type than the Demi-Humans, which are quite passive and have an extremely reduced health bar.

In Shadow of the Erdtree,Demi-Human Queen Mariggais the only one of her kind andthe easiest encounter in the entire experience.

Like the first Demi-Human Queen you meet in The Lands Between, she’s surrounded by small minions that can make things annoying if you’re not paying attention, but even with ample mistakes, I reckon even the most casual of Souls players could do this one first try.

Considering you can ride a horse and defeat all enemies without drawing their attention,I see little reason to say these aren’t the easiest 100,000 runes of all time.
