We all came to know and love the very firstPlayStationfor delivering iconic experiences with ambitious 3D graphics and an innovative controller – especially those that managed to fill the memory cards’ capacity almost completely, leaving us blown away by hours of content.
Back in the day, these titles proved that, even with enormous loading screens and limited size, it was already possible to face an adventure that seemed endless at first.

7 Amazing PS2 Games With 100+ Hours Of Content
Even back in the 2000s, some games were able to offer 100+ hour runtimes
I sure have many nostalgic memories (no pun intended) of PS1 experiences that got me hooked for weeks with optional bosses, side quests, hidden secrets, mini-games, and twists that appeared when I thought we had seen it all.

So, in this article, let’s go back to the 1990s and recall some of the best PS1 games that offered over (or more than) 100 hours of (main and optional) content.
Completionist times were based onHowLongToBeat.
10Street Fighter EX2 Plus
Completion Time: 350 Hours
Street Fighter EX2 Plus
Forget about over 100 hours of content – how about more than 300? Fighting games are always a special experience, since completing 100% may take many hours of getting beaten up (literally), andStreet Fighter EX2 Plusis no exception.
It is an extremely fun experience, with great characters, deep combo systems, and a soundtrack that slaps, with main objectives that can be completed in less than an hour.

But if you are aiming to get sunk in the game, prepare to spend around 350 hours mastering every fighter, discovering all of its secrets, completing all optional quests, and utterly maximizing the gameplay.
9Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant
Completion Time: 148 Hours
Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant
As long and complex as its title,Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savantisan old-school CRPGwith everything that you would expect from it: deep character customization, an engaging sci-fi plot, intense strategy, a challenging battle system that pushes you to your limits, and many hours of main and optional content.
The story can take around 60 hours, but prepare to invest more than 140 hours if you want to explore every nook and cranny.

This is one of my favorite CRPGs ever, which got a port for the PlayStation in 1995, but only in Japan, unfortunately. If you go there and have some extra yen, I definitely recommend it.
Completion Time: 200 Hours
Railroad Tycoon II
Railroad Tycoon 2is still one of the bestof the simulation genre, simply because it is incredibly focused on what it wants to be, making you have a blast from the very first second.
What can be pretty insane is that it offers more than 120 scenarios (includinghistorical and open settings), 60 locomotives from different eras and regions, a sophisticated stock market system, a sandbox mode that allows unrestricted gameplay (without financial constraints), and even an editor to create your own scenarios.

All of that easily leads to hundreds of hours of pure, fun content.
7Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
Completion Time: 110 Hours
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
If you are into tactical RPGs,Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Togetheris going to be very fun (and quite addictive, I must add) for you.
It has a lot (and I really mean it) of content to keep you busy, with different paths that change the course of the story, several skills that require time to grind, classes to unlock, and even a more challenging mode that unlocks after you finish the game.
So it is definitely a 100+ hour experience. Also, this title has historical importance, since it was a direct inspiration for the acclaimedFinal Fantasy Tactics.
You can play the remake Tactics Ogre Reborn if you want something more modern.
6Sid Meier’s Civilization
Completion Time: 152 Hours
Sid Meier’s Civilization
The very first title forSid Meier’s Civilizationarrived on the PlayStation 1 with a pretty decent port – that, sure, gets a little slower the further you go in the game, but still plays great.
It was the first time we got to play as the ruler of an entire civilization over many generations, being completely free to explore the world and do whatever we wished, pioneering the strategy game genre at the time.
10 Games You Should Play If You Love Civilization 6
There are a lot of great strategy games out there and here are some of the best that are like Civilization 6.
And planning your strategies to survive amid the rise (and the fall) of civilizations could lead you to more than 150 hours of gameplay.
5Digimon World
Completion Time: 113 Hours
Digimon World
TheDigimon Worldseries of games may have divided fans throughout the years, but no one can deny that the first title was a brilliant starter.
It is an extremely addictive and nostalgic RPG which can be a Digimon fan’s dream-come-true since it basically feels like a 3D Tamagotchi (if that makes any sense). I mean, even the glitches manage to give the game more charm.
And, despite having over 110 hours of content – which could be stretched depending on the player’s skills –, it leaves you wanting more. Also, your playtime can increase dramatically if, for any reason, you may’t stop getting Numemon or Sukamon.
4Gran Turismo 2
Completion Time: 102 Hours
Gran Turismo 2
Another genre known for having quite a long length is racing games, and the highly praisedGran Turismo 2is the perfect example of that on the PlayStation 1.
It presents an amazing campaign, an impressive selection of 650 cars (a significant increase from its predecessor, which had 178), pretty tight controls, several detailed tracks, and an insane amount of content that surpasses a hundred hours.

What’s a racer without any good story?
Sometimes, it is even hard to remember that this was a PS1 game, to be honest. Gran Turismo is, to this day, one of the most premium exclusive IPs in Sony’s portfolio, and it doesn’t show signs of slowing down.
3Harvest Moon: Back to Nature
Completion Time: 183 Hours
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature
I often rememberHarvest Moon: Back to Natureas one of the most charming entries in the Harvest Moon series – and in the farming simulator genre as a whole.
Mainly because I spent probably more than a hundred hours playing it when I was a kid, trying to figure out every little secret of it. Actually, when I was not playing, I was still talking about it with friends at school.
you may harvest, tend to your animals, improve your farm, expand your home, romance an NPC, and much more. It offered so many features that were unprecedented in a SNES title.
No wonder I chose this magic experience when I was selecting the titles for this article, since you completely lose track of time whenever you engage with the game.
2Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
Completion Time: 153 Hours
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
Well, it was quite obvious that we would finda classic JRPGin this article, as the genre is known for offering hours and hours of content, especiallyDragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.
When I played it on the PlayStation 1 back in the day, I was blown away by the comfy atmosphere, awesome music, complex plotline, challenging class system, and even all the work you have to put into the immigrant town.
While its main story alone already makes you spend over a hundred hours, you’re able to engage with the post-game which, alone, can add up to 40 hours of playtime. Thus, the road to 100% in Dragon Quest VII may clock at 150+ hours.
1Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
If you press “Start the game” on any Persona title, you know from the very first second that you will not finish it in less than a hundred hours – andPersona 2: Eternal Punishmentis no different because you will happily spend more than 150 hours with it if you want to hunt for all the rare Personas.
For me, this is by far the best classic Persona game (and one of the best JRPGs on the PlayStation 1), massively improving its predecessor in terms of gameplay, with a much greater replay value and a darker tone.
Add that to an unforgettable story – that is protagonized by adults instead of high school students – and an addictive battle system to get a phenomenal experience.
Mind you that I’m just discussing Eternal Punishment. If you want to complete everything Persona 2: Innocent Sin brings to the table, you can expect around 60 hours of content.
